Refund policy

Nearly every Market Dwellings product is custom-printed to order with your personalized information. That changes how refunds and returns work.

The short version

  • Custom-printed items: no returns or exchanges for buyer's remorse, typos, or changes of mind — but we stand behind our work, so if something's wrong on our end, we'll fix it.
  • Non-customized items (if your order contains a product that ships as-is with no personalization): may be returned in new, unused condition within 14 days of delivery.
  • Cancellations: usually possible if you reach out before production begins.

When we'll always make it right

If your order arrives with any of the following, email hello@marketdwellings.com with your order number and a photo within 30 days of delivery, and we'll reprint or refund — your choice:

  • A production defect (smudging, misprint, streaks, low-quality print).
  • Damage that happened in shipping.
  • A product that doesn't match the order we confirmed (wrong quantity, wrong product, wrong size, wrong colors).
  • A mistake we made in production that doesn't match the approved proof or the information you submitted.

What isn't covered

  • Typos, wrong photos, outdated phone numbers, or other errors in the information you submitted. Please double-check before ordering.
  • Color expectations that differ from what's possible on the product's paper stock — for example, bright colors print less vibrantly on kraft paper than on white. We note this on the product page.
  • Small variations in color or trim between orders, which are normal in printing.
  • Delays caused by the shipping carrier (see our Shipping policy for what to do about lost or stuck packages).
  • Change of heart or change of plans after production has started.

Cancellations

If you want to cancel an order, reply to your order confirmation email or write to hello@marketdwellings.com as soon as possible.

  • Before production begins (usually within a few hours of ordering during business hours), we can almost always cancel and refund in full.
  • Once production has started, we can't cancel — the work is already done specifically for you.

Non-customized items

A small number of products ship as-is and aren't personalized. For those, you may return the item in new, unused condition within 14 days of delivery. Email us first so we can share the return address and confirm eligibility. Refunds are issued to the original payment method after we receive and inspect the return; return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the return is our fault.

How refunds are processed

Once we approve a refund, it's issued to your original payment method within 5 business days. Your bank or card issuer may take a few more days to post it. If the card you used is no longer active, we can issue store credit instead.

If we're reprinting your order instead of refunding, we'll send a production timeline by email. Reprints ship on our normal production schedule.

Wholesale and brokerage orders

Refunds and reprints for bulk or brokerage orders follow the same principles, but may include additional terms under a separate agreement. If your brokerage has a written agreement with Market Dwellings, its terms control.

Orders through Etsy or Amazon

If you ordered through a third-party marketplace, refunds are processed through that marketplace's messaging and refund flow. Our policy is the same, but the admin path is different.
